Newspapers' financial pages are awash with confusing features on and adverts for financial institutions' rates available to depositors.
Our aim is to provide clear information on what we see are the best five rates available in various savings accounts, whether you have £3,000 to deposit in a Cash Mini ISA, or £100,000 or more to place on 90 days’ notice.
We will exclude accounts with unusual limitations, such as a £2,500 upper limit on deposits, but we will include accounts which have restrictions on withdrawals; any such features will be highlighted, and if we have included at any time an account with a rate for only a limited time, we will publish a reminder an appropriate time before the rate expires, so you can move your funds to a more competitive rate.
